Semester 2

This semester again has 18 credits, like the Semester 1. There are few elective but are restricted so you have fewer options to choose. The subjects for the 2015-16 session were:

1. Intelligent Sensors and Instrumentation
2. Telemetry & SCADA
3. Advances in Signal & Image Processing
4. Medical Imaging
5. Seminar

Semester 1

Learning becomes easy if you know the reason behind it. Every subject has got some industrial significance, find out its importance to you and i can assure that you will be motivated to perform better.

In  the first semester there are five subjects contributing 18 credits. As of for 2014-15 batch there were

1. Advanced Industrial Electronic Instrumentation

2. Bio-Medical Instrumentation

3. Digital Signal and Image processing

4. Power System instrumentation

5. Instrumentation Laboratory

Congratulations on being a part of a prestigious institute of India. This happiness is surely surrounded by the clouds of a thought that what opportunities you have now. Don't worry, your seniors are here to guide you.

Generally there are two mentalities of students here. First one are those who came here to do M.Tech. and secondly the ones who had to do M.Tech. because they missed PSUs. I respect both the types. I would surely give you details about the two so that you can choose accordingly.

Being here at IIT Roorkee, you have a chance to avail the DAAD IIT MSP scholarship. This is an alternative to the placements, as it is for one semester right around the placement session.

If you are admitted here in M.Tech. its for sure that you will have to write Semester exams and perform well. This Semester wise study material which might be useful to you. At this stage of time you can grab an opportunity to go to Germany for your Master Thesis.
